 Greg merges dual careers in technology law and engineering into his position as LAVA Group's Chief Intellectual Property Officer. As a technology attorney, Greg has extensive experience in intellectual property valuation, licensing, and commercialization. His legal experience in technology law includes working with a variety of companies ranging from Fortune 500 sized companies to start-up companies. Prior to joining LAVA Group, Greg led the patent practice and built the intellctual property team at Troutman Sanders LLP. There, he developed strategic intellectual property business plans for his client to secure present and future revenues for their companies.

Greg has led development teams in mining intellectual property assets, obtaining venture capital financing, protecting intellectual property, developing licensing and intellectual asset strategies and focusing the direction of intellectual property development. Prior to his work with Troutman, Greg was associated with Jones & Askew, a patent boutique firm in Atlanta Georgia.
As an engineer, Greg held various positions with organizations such as the National Security Agency at Ft. Meade, Georgia Technology Research Institute, and Panasonic Corporation. Most notably, while at Panasonic, Greg led the software development team for the delivery of several cellular telephone products to the market.
Greg holds a BS and MS in electrical engineering from Western Kentucky University and The George Washington University respectively and a Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University. Greg's technical expertise is in the areas of electronic engineering, software development and telecommunications with a strong focus on wireless technology. Greg is a co-inventor of U.S. Patent No. 5,473,615 entitled Digital Supervisor Audio Tone Detector. |
